I decided to walk to work today. At first I felt I’d made a mistake – my hands went numb from the cold and I’d not put on an appropriate coat. But the moment I got to the park, my spirits soared and I was so glad I was there.
It’s no secret – autumn is my very favourite time of year. I love blue skies and golden leaves, and I even like the temperature getting a little cooler. In fact, I get very excited when I need to start wearing jackets, because jackets are one of my favourite items of clothing.
The only problem with autumn in England is that it can be very short lived, and can be taken over by dank, dark weather way too easily. And then, suddenly, winter slides in without warning. And that very definitely happened this year.
So, I can’t believe it was only a couple of weeks ago that I had cause to wander around Cheltenham on a very, very beautiful autumn day, and take these photos.
This is just one of the famous Cheltenham caryatids, one of the first things I ever saw of Cheltenham.
which is in the very beautiful area of Montpellier:
Then we dropped round to the Lansdown area – I’ve always dreamed of having one of these tower rooms as an art studio:
I love some of the statues in Cheltenham. This one is particularly well known, right in the shopping centre:
but I am rather proud that Cheltenham is the birthplace of Holst:
We have a fabulous cheese shop in Cheltenham, and this made me laugh – a pile of cheese with a cow on top:
I do love living in Cheltenham.
